The Challenge in Connectivity 

As this radiology group expands its operation, they recognized the need for a strong and secure IT infrastructure. This will help them keep pace with their growing demands. Their goal was to maintain their reputation for accuracy, professionalism and convenience. All while ensuring that patient data remained secure and easily accessible across their network clinics. 
 
The challenge was clear: they needed an advanced, scalable solution capable of managing a complex network of devices, ensuring seamless communication across multiple locations, and upholding the highest security standards. That’s where our partnership with Fortinet came into play. 
 

Our Solutions to Connectivity

To address these challenges, we proposed and implemented a comprehensive network solution centered around Fortinet’s technology.  
 

1. FortiManager Implementation:

We have deployed Fortimanager to have better management of the radiology group’s extensive network. This centralized management platform enabled us to easily configure, monitor and maintain their network devices from a single interface. FortiManager’s capabilities were essential in ensuring that the networks remained efficient, secure, and adaptable to the radiology group’s evolving needs.

2. FortiAnalyzer Deployment:

To further enhance their network security, we integrated FortiAnalyzer into the solution. FortiAnalyzer provided advanced analytics, centralized logging, and powerful reporting features. This tool will enable the radiology group to collect list of logs from all their Fortinet devices, detect advance threats, automate compliance reporting, and gain deep insight into network traffic patterns. With FortiAnalyzer in place, threats can be identified and mitigated before they can impact patient care.  

3. FortiGate Firewalls for greater security:

Security is non-negotiable in the medical field. We set up 26 FortiGate firewalls across their various locations. Which will help to protect sensitive patient data and ensure compliance with strict healthcare regulations. FortiGate’s strong firewall solutions offered the perfect blend of performance, reliability, and security. Safeguarding the network against threats while allowing for smooth uninterrupted operations.  
 

4. FortiSwitches for Superior Connectivity:

To enhance the radiology group’s network connectivity, we Installed 35 FortiSwitches across their various locations. These switches provided the backbone for their local area networks (LANs). This will ensure fast, reliable communication between devices and systems within each clinic. FortiSwitches are known for their scalability and ease of integration with the performance and port density to meet the demands and scale as connectivity grows. 

5. FortiAP Access Points:

To have secure and efficient wireless connectivity in different radiology group’s locations, we installed 20 FortiAPs. These are wireless access points (AP) supporting the latest Wi-Fi technologies (WiFi-5 and WiFi-6) and the demand for plug and play deployment. These access points deliver High-performance Wi-Fi coverages throughout the locations, ensuring that both patients and staffs enjoy fast and reliable internet access. FortiAPs advanced security features also played a critical role in protecting the wireless network from unauthorized access.  

The Outcome 

The Deployment of 81 Fortinet devices across this radiology group’s network has significantly enhanced their operational efficiency and security.  With FortiManager at the helm and FortiAnalyzer on the side, managing their extensive infrastructure would be much simpler, allowing their IT team to focus more on strategic initiatives rather than day-to-day troubleshooting.  
 
The FortiGate firewall will provide strong protection to secure sensitive patient data and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. The FortiSwitches and FortiAP  have vastly improved the connectivity, enabling faster, more reliable communication across all locations.
