Your workload on dedicated hardware, run by one accountable team

Dedicated servers and hosting, managed end to end

Dedicated server hosting, managed web hosting, and domain registration delivered alongside Trucell private cloud and colocation. Hardware specified to your workload, hosted in Trucell racks at NextDC or Equinix, with managed monitoring, OS patching, backup tied into Veeam VCSP and Datto, and the same incident, change, and security operating model as the rest of your Trucell IT. For organisations that want a single Australian provider for compute, storage, websites, and DNS rather than juggling four or five commodity hosting accounts.

You are in the right place if:

  • A workload has to run on dedicated hardware (licensing, performance, sovereignty, or a vendor that says so), but you do not want to buy, rack, and babysit that hardware yourself.
  • Your websites, DNS, and domains are scattered across commodity hosting accounts nobody fully owns, and consolidation under one accountable Australian provider is overdue.
  • You are leaving an ageing server room, or an unmanaged VPS, and want the migration planned, the hardware specified to the workload, and the operations handled after go live.

Not the right fit if you want to rent raw hardware and operate everything yourself: that is closer to wholesale colocation, and our colocation page explains how we run that as a managed service instead. If the workload does not need dedicated hardware at all, our cloud page covers private cloud and VPS paths that are usually the better buy.

Commodity hosting vs hosting with an operator

Cheap hosting is easy to buy and expensive to own. The difference is who answers when it matters.

Scattered commodity accounts

  • A server in one portal, websites in another, domains in a third, nobody accountable across them
  • Renewals and DNS records owned by whoever set them up, years ago
  • Patching and backups assumed to be happening, verified never
  • Support tickets answered from a queue that has never seen your stack
  • When something breaks, the vendors point at each other

Dedicated hosting with Trucell

  • Hardware specified to the workload, hosted in Trucell racks at NextDC and Equinix
  • Monitoring, OS patching, and backup operated for you, under change management
  • Websites, domains, and DNS in the same accountable thread as the server
  • One escalation path, from the hardware to the application handoff
  • ISO 27001:2022 certified operations, with evidence you can file

What managed dedicated hosting includes

The parts a bare-metal invoice leaves on your desk are the parts we run for you.

  • Hardware specified to the workload

Servers sized against what actually runs on them: CPU, memory, storage, and growth headroom, quoted before you commit and refreshed on a plan, not on a failure.

  • Trucell racks at NextDC and Equinix

Your hardware lives in the same carrier neutral facilities as our colocation footprint, with cross connects into Azure (AMMP approved), AWS, and Microsoft 365 already in place.

  • Monitoring, patching, and change control

OS patching under change management, monitoring that pages an engineer rather than an inbox, and hands on work in the facility done by our team, not a ticket read cold.

  • Backup with tested restores

Backup tied into our backup and recovery practice on Veeam VCSP and Datto, with restore testing rather than backup job screenshots.

  • Private connectivity when it matters

Rack to rack, rack to cloud, and site to server paths designed with dark fibre and Metro Ethernet when the workload should not cross the public internet.

  • One operating model with the rest of your IT

The same incident, change, and security operating model as IT support and managed security, so the server is part of the estate, not an orphan.

Web hosting, domains, and DNS without the account sprawl

Most organisations accumulate hosting the way drawers accumulate cables: a website here, a DNS zone there, domains registered by someone who left. Each account is cheap; the sprawl is not. Renewals lapse, records drift, and when email or the website breaks, the first hour is spent working out who even holds the login.

We consolidate managed web hosting, domain registration, and DNS under the same accountable thread as your servers and the rest of your IT. Records are documented, renewals are owned, and changes go through the same change control as everything else we run for you.

If the workload behind the website belongs on shared or cloud infrastructure rather than dedicated hardware, we say so: cloud covers private cloud and VPS paths, and the right answer is sometimes a mix.

Scope a server, a migration, or the whole hosting drawer

Tell us what runs today, where it lives, and what has been annoying you about it. You get a specification matched to the workload, a migration plan with owners and rollback, and one provider accountable for the result.

What to include in your brief

  • What runs on the server (applications, databases, websites)
  • Where it lives today and any contract end dates
  • Domains and DNS zones you want consolidated
  • Compliance context (for example health, government, or finance)

Dedicated servers and hosting questions

Direct answers to what technical and procurement reviewers ask first.

Who owns the hardware?

Either model works. Trucell can supply and own the hardware with the cost inside your monthly service, or host hardware you own in our racks. We put the ownership, refresh, and exit terms in writing before anything is racked, so leaving is a documented path rather than a hostage negotiation.

Where does our data physically live?

In Trucell racks inside NextDC and Equinix data centres in Australia, operated under our ISO 27001:2022 certified management system. Cross connects into Azure, AWS, and Microsoft 365 are available when the design calls for hybrid paths.

How is this different from a VPS or private cloud?

A dedicated server gives one workload the whole machine: no noisy neighbours, licensing tied to physical hardware where vendors require it, and predictable performance. Private cloud and VPS share infrastructure and scale more flexibly. We run both, so the recommendation follows the workload rather than the product we happen to sell.

What does support actually cover?

The platform: hardware, hypervisor or OS, patching, monitoring, backup, and the facility work. Application support depends on scope: where Trucell also runs your IT support, the whole stack sits in one escalation path, which is the point.

Can you migrate us from a server room or another host?

Yes. We document what runs, specify the target hardware, and run a staged cutover with agreed windows and rollback. Websites, domains, and DNS move under the same plan, so the migration ends with one accountable provider instead of one more account.

Where dedicated hosting connects

A server is rarely the whole design. These are the lines clients most often run in the same thread.
