Every email and file your business runs on — safe, searchable, and back in minutes

- Trucell SaaS Backup
Your cloud apps keep the business moving. Trucell SaaS Backup keeps an independent, encrypted copy of all of it — so one bad click, one leaver, or one ransomware attack never becomes lost work.
You are in the right place if:
- You run Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or Dropbox and assume recycle bins or native retention are enough — until someone needs a file that is no longer there.
- You need an independent, encrypted copy outside the SaaS vendor, with searchable restore your admins (or end users) can run without opening a ticket to Microsoft or Google.
- You want clear per-seat pricing you can put in front of finance, not a black-box enterprise quote for every mailbox.
If you need full infrastructure backup (VMs, NAS, endpoints) rather than SaaS tenant protection, start with our Backup and recovery page — that covers Veeam, Datto, immutable storage, and tested restore evidence for the wider estate.
Deleted means deleted — sooner than you think
Microsoft, Google, and Dropbox run excellent services, but they protect their platform — not your history. Once the recycle bin empties or a licence is removed, there is nothing left to give back.
-
Data disappears every day
A mailbox purged after offboarding. A document library overwritten by a bad sync. Files encrypted by ransomware. Native retention windows close in days or weeks — then it is gone.
-
And it feels terrible
That sinking moment when the file is not in the recycle bin, the email is not in Deleted Items, and the person who removed it left last quarter. Nobody should run a business on hope.
-
It should not be this way
Years of your company’s work should not vanish because of one click. Your data deserves a second, independent home that you control.
How long does Microsoft actually keep it?
The windows below are typical Microsoft 365 defaults; exact figures vary by plan and tenant settings. The pattern is what matters: every native window closes, usually within weeks.
Recoverable items (deleted mail)
14 days default, up to 30
Mailbox after a licence is removed
about 30 days, then gone
SharePoint and OneDrive recycle bins
93 days, then gone
Trucell SaaS Backup
kept for as long as you keep the seat
Independent of licences, leavers, recycle bins, and whoever clicked delete.
We built the backup we wanted for our own clients
Trucell is an Australian managed IT provider. We have taken the “is it really gone?” phone calls, and we built SaaS Backup to answer them: independent, searchable, and priced so protecting everyone is the easy decision.
-
Independent, encrypted copies
Your backups live outside Microsoft, Google, and Dropbox, encrypted at rest — in Trucell infrastructure or your own AWS S3 or Azure storage.
-
Searchable self-service restore
Find mail, files, and sites across retention history and restore what you need without waiting on a vendor support queue.
-
Security first
Enforced multi-factor authentication, Microsoft and Google single sign-on, and strict per-tenant isolation.
-
Priced against the market leaders
Seat pricing aligned with Veeam Data Cloud Foundation list pricing — without the enterprise procurement theatre. Live list prices are on this page.
Where your backups live
Encrypted at rest, isolated per tenant, and operated under Trucell’s ISO 27001:2022 certified ISMS. Choose residency that matches how you buy cloud.
-
Trucell-hosted (default)
Backups land in Trucell infrastructure in your regional deployment — Australian operations for AU/NZ portals, with regional portals for the Philippines and Chile.
-
Your AWS S3 or Azure Blob
Bring your own object storage when policy requires customer-owned buckets. Encryption keys and access stay under your cloud account controls.
-
Restores on your terms
Search and restore into the connected tenant. Admins and authorised end users use MFA and optional Microsoft or Google SSO — not a shared vendor support queue.
What the portal looks like
Everything runs from one self-service portal: connect your tenant, choose who is protected, and restore without raising a ticket. The illustration below shows the shape of it; the real thing is one login away.
What you can do in it
- Connect Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and Dropbox tenants in minutes
- Choose exactly who and what is protected, per workload, seat by seat
- Browse point-in-time restore points and search across mail and files
- Restore back into the connected tenant, self service, without a vendor ticket
- Manage seats and billing yourself: card billing, or rolled into your Trucell managed-services invoice
- Keep backups on Trucell infrastructure, or bring your own AWS S3 or Azure Blob storage
Without SaaS Backup vs with Trucell
Same cloud apps. Very different recovery story.
Without an independent backup
- Recovery ends where the recycle bin ends
- Offboarding and licence removal can purge history for good
- Ransomware or a bad sync can overwrite the only copy you have
- You wait on vendor support when something critical is gone
With Trucell SaaS Backup
- Search and restore from an independent encrypted copy
- Retention you control, separate from the SaaS vendor
- Self-service restores for admins and authorised end users
- One accountable Australian MSP for backup and the rest of your IT
Native retention vs Trucell SaaS Backup vs enterprise backup suites
Buyers comparing Microsoft 365 backup options usually land on three paths. Here is the plain-English difference.
-
Native recycle bin / retention
Free with the SaaS vendor, but windows are short. Offboarding, licence removal, and ransomware can erase the only copy. Not designed as a second home for years of mail and files.
-
Trucell SaaS Backup
Independent encrypted copies for Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and Dropbox. Live per-seat list pricing aligned to Veeam Foundation, self-service restore, and an Australian MSP that already runs your IT if you want one throat to choke.
-
Enterprise suites (e.g. Veeam Data Cloud)
Strong products with enterprise procurement, packaging, and often a separate relationship from your day-to-day MSP. Our seat list tracks Foundation-class pricing without that theatre — use either path; we will say when a suite fit is better.

Honest restore expectations
Restore fidelity is workload-specific. Mail, files, and sites come back to the tenant; some metadata and edge cases differ by provider. We publish what is covered so you are not surprised during an incident — ask us for the current backup and restore matrix when you evaluate fit.

SaaS Backup questions
Short answers to what buyers ask before they connect a tenant.
Is Microsoft 365 retention the same as backup?
No. Native retention, litigation hold, and recycle bins are not a complete backup strategy. Once those windows close — or a licence is removed — the content may be gone. SaaS Backup keeps an independent copy you can search and restore on your terms.
Where is my backup data stored?
Encrypted at rest in Trucell infrastructure by default, or in your own AWS S3 or Azure Blob storage when you prefer customer-owned object storage.
How is pricing calculated?
Per protected seat per workload, plus retained logical GB per month. The live catalogue on this page is the source of truth for list prices in your region.
Can end users restore their own files?
Yes, where you grant access. Tenant admins and authorised end users can search and restore through the portal with MFA and optional Microsoft or Google SSO.
